United Kingdom: Conwy Castle

Conwy Castle is a fortification in Conwy, located in North Wales. It was built by Edward I, during his conquest of Wales, between 1283 and 1289. Constructed as part of a wider project to create the walled town of Conwy. UNESCO considers Conwy to be one of "the finest examples of late 13th century and early 14th century military architecture in Europe", and it is classed as a World Heritage site.

Thanks to Ms Anu. Anu has used two stamps. One on the right is from set of 6 issued in 2011. The stamp shows women in stain glass which was designed by Edward Jones in 1864. The 6 stamps were released under the title Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. This Company(1861–1875) was a furnishings and decorative arts manufacturer and retailer founded by the artist and designer William Morris with friends from the Pre-Raphaelites. With its successor Morris & Co. (1875–1940) the firm's medieval-inspired aesthetic and respect for hand-craftsmanship and traditional textile arts had a profound influence on the decoration of churches and houses into the early 20th century. The 10p stamp is a Christmas issue.
