Slovenia: Julian Alps

The Julian Alps are a mountain range of the Southern Limestone Alps that stretch from northeastern Italy to Slovenia, where they rise to 2,864 m at Mount Triglav, the highest peak in Slovenia. A large part of the Julian Alps is included in Triglav National Park.

Switzerland: Musuem of Design, Zurich

The Museum of Design, Zürich is a museum for industrial design, visual communication, architecture, and craft in Zurich, Switzerland. The museum is part of the Department of Cultural Analysis of the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). The museum's four extensive collections (Poster, Graphics, Design and Applied Art) are of international importance.

 Thanks to Dr Kiran Acharya who was visiting Switzerland. He has used a definitive from Dawn by Nature series with airmail attach label. The stamp features Old world Swallowtail butterfly.

Vietnam: Hội An

Hội An is a city on Vietnam’s central coast known for its well-preserved Ancient Town, cut through with canals. The former port city’s melting-pot history is reflected in its architecture, a mix of eras and styles from wooden Chinese shophouses and temples to colorful French colonial buildings, ornate Vietnamese tube houses and the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge with its pagoda.

Thanks to Dr Kiran Acharya who was visiting Vietnam. He has used three stamps issued in 2020 featuring Chua Cau, Chau Cau or Japanese bridge is footbridge with a temple atop. 
 

Southafrica: Multiview

This postcard shows wild life of South Africa. Africa has one of the most beautiful landscapes along with beautiful animals. 

Thanks to Dr Kiran Acharya who visited South Africa and was very lucky to reach home just before the lock down was imposed because of Covid. This postcard was posted on 28.02.2020 and arrived on 15.09.2020. It took almost 7 months because of covid restrictions. Kiran used a 2014 stamp on African Lion. The stamp has no face value and 'Airmail Postcard' printed and you pay what the postage is at that time.

Japan:Tōdai-ji, Nara

Tōdai-ji is a Buddhist temple complex that was once one of the powerful Seven Great Temples, located in the city of Nara, Japan. Though it was originally founded in the year 738 CE. Its Great Buddha Hall (大仏殿 Daibutsuden) houses the world's largest bronze statue of the Buddha Vairocana, known in Japanese as Daibutsu.

Japan: Bamboo Groove

Bamboo Forest, or Arashiyama Bamboo Grove or Sagano Bamboo Forest, is a natural forest of bamboo in Arashiyama, Kyoto, Japan. The forest consists of several pathways for tourists and visitors.

Japan: Mount Fuiji

Japan’s Mt. Fuji is an active volcano about 100 kilometers southwest of Tokyo. Commonly called “Fuji-san,” it’s the country’s tallest peak, at 3,776 meters. A pilgrimage site for centuries, it’s considered one of Japan’s 3 sacred mountains, and summit hikes remain a popular activity. Its iconic profile is the subject of numerous works of art, notably Edo Period prints by Hokusai and Hiroshige.

Japan: Nikko Toshogu Shrine

Nikkō Tōshō-gu is a Tōshō-gū Shinto shrine located in Nikkō, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan.Together with Futarasan Shrine and Rinnō-ji, it forms the Shrines and Temples of Nikkō UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tōshō-gū is dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate. It was initially built in 1617.

Japan: Hiroshima Peace Memorial (Genbaku Dome)

The Hiroshima Peace Memorial (Genbaku Dome) was the only structure left standing in the area where the first atomic bomb exploded on 6 August 1945. Through the efforts of many people, including those of the city of Hiroshima, it has been preserved in the same state as immediately after the bombing. Not only is it a stark and powerful symbol of the most destructive force ever created by humankind; it also expresses the hope for world peace and the ultimate elimination of all nuclear weapons. This building was designed by Czech architect Jan Letzel. On August 6, 1945, over 70,000 people were killed instantly, and another 70,000 suffered fatal injuries from the radiation. At 8:15 on August 6, 1945, Little Boy — the first atomic bomb to be used in war — detonated almost directly above the dome.

Japan: Itsukushima Shrine

Itsukushima Shrine is a Shinto shrine on the island of Itsukushima (popularly known as Miyajima), best known for its "floating" torii gate. It is in the city of Hatsukaichi in Hiroshima Prefecture in Japan. The shrine complex is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Azerbaijan: Gobustan Rock Art.

Gobustan Rock Art represents flora and fauna, hunting, lifestyles, and culture of pre-historic and medieval periods of time. The carvings on the rocks illustrates primitive men, ritual dances, men with lances in their hands, animals, bull fights, camel caravans, and picture of the sun and stars. The date of these cravings goes back to 5.000 – 20.000 years before. 

Thanks to Dr Kiran who was visiting Azerbaijan. He has used 2014 definitive on pets, from a set of 5. Looks like puppy of a Mastiff. 

Azerbaijan: Carpets

Azerbaijani rugs are a product of Azerbaijan, an ancient center of carpet weaving. The Azerbaijani rug is a traditional handmade textile of various sizes, with dense texture and a pile or pile-less surface, whose patterns are characteristic of Azerbaijan's many carpet-making regions. Traditionally, since ancient times the carpets were used in Azerbaijan to cover floors, decorate interior walls, sofas, chairs, beds and tables. Carpet making is a family tradition transferred orally and through practice, with carpet making and rug making being predominantly a women's occupation. In November 2010 the Azerbaijani carpet was proclaimed a Masterpiece of Intangible Heritage by UNESCO.

Azerbaijan: Heydar Aliyev Museum

Heydar Aliyev Museum is located in Baku. This modern building was designed by Iraqi architect Zaya Haleed. The museum has various art and pictures of former King Heydar Alirza oglu Aliyev. One can also see his huge car collection here.

Italy: Lake Como

Lake Como is a lake of glacial origin in Lombardy, Italy. It has an area of 146 square kilometres, making it the third-largest lake in Italy, after Lake Garda and Lake Maggiore.

China: Dongchuan Red Land

Dongchuan Red Land, centered on Huashitou Village in Dongchuan District, about 250 kilometers (155 miles) northeast of Kunming, has the most typical and special red soil on the Yunnan highlands. At an altitude of 1,800-2,000 meters (5,900-6,500 feet), the red soil is rich in iron and aluminum, giving it an amazing crimson color. The soils are interspersed with colored fields and crops, forming all kinds of patterns.

Thanks to Dr Kiran Acharya. Kiran choose one stamp from set of 2, showing Shouxi lake. This stamp was issued in 1998. The lake is located in Yangzhou city.

China: Mount Tianzi

Tianzi Mountain  is located in Zhangjiajie in the Hunan Province of China, close to the Suoxi Valley in South Central China. It is named after the farmer Xiang Dakun of the Tujia ethnic group, who led a successful local farmers' revolt and called himself "Tianzi", meaning son of Heaven and is the traditional epithet of the Chinese emperor. These giant, pillar-like mountains have a peak of 1,212 m (3,976 ft). The area taken up by these mountains is about 67 square kilometres (17,000 acres).

China: The Stone Forest, Yunnan

The Stone Forest or Shilin  is a notable set of limestone formations about 500 km2 located in Shilin Yi Autonomous County, Yunnan Province. The tall rocks seem to arise from the ground in a manner somewhat reminiscent of stalagmites, or with many looking like petrified trees, thereby creating the illusion of a forest made of stone. Since 2007, two parts of the site, the Naigu Stone Forest and Suogeyi Village, have been UNESCO World Heritage Sites as part of the South China Karst.

Nepal: Chitwan National Park

Chitwan National Park is the first national park in Nepal. It was established in 1973 and granted the status of a World Heritage Site in 1984. Some of the animals found here include tigers, clouded leopard, sloth bears, rhinoceros, civets among others.
